Busying Out/Restoring the

Overview

This appendix provides the step-by-step instructions for busying out and

restoring the MERLIN LEGEND MAIL module. These instructions are cross-

referenced in the procedures provided in Chapter 3 of this guide.

Busying Out the Module

CAUTION:

Although the system is designed for modules to be removed and replaced

without affecting call processing, there is still a possibility that partially

removing or inserting a module can cause a cold start of the MERLIN

LEGEND system.

Before removing the MERLIN LEGEND MAIL module, you must busy out the

slot where the MERLIN LEGEND MAIL module resides. This procedure

discontinues service from module.

To busy out the module:

1. At the SPM Main Menu, select Maintenance .

2. At the Maintenance menu, select Slot.

3. Type the slot number and select Enter.

4. Select Busy-Out .

5. Select Yes.

When the module is busied out successfully, the message “Busy-Out Complete”

appears.
